Volunteer and CSR days

At Plan Zheroes, we’re dedicated to a noble mission – encouraging businesses to share their surplus food with local charities rather than letting it go to waste. To date, we’ve made a significant impact:

• We’ve facilitated the donation of over 454 tonnes of food to local charities, equivalent to more than 1 million meals.
• These efforts have resulted in a reduction of approximately 1,800 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Our mission

Our primary mission is clear and straightforward: we help all businesses to donate surplus food, regardless of type or quantity, to charities and community groups in need. But our mission extends beyond food; we also help businesses donate non-food items, including toiletries, clothing, furniture, and kitchen equipment to charitable causes.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an opportunity for companies to engage with their local community while strengthening the bond among friends and colleagues.

At Plan Zheroes, we believe that one of the best ways to spend your CSR activity is by helping to tackle the problem of food waste and reduce carbon emissions.

Did you know that UK food businesses throw away a staggering 3 million tonnes of food each year (lots of which could have been put to good use) while, approximately 8% of UK households experience food insecurity?

Imagine the impact we could make together preventing good food from ending up in landfill.

What we offer

We offer engaging and customisable CSR activities, both for individuals, small groups (less than 10 participants) and large groups (30+ participants). We believe in a direct approach with local vendors and charities, and a pinch of competition.

The Great Surplus Food Hunt – Corporate Challenge

Help us inspire food businesses to donate their surplus food to charities that are feeding people in need instead of sending it to landfill where it contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and further damage to our planet. Join us for an inspiring half day challenge to get more businesses to think about food waste and sign up to our online platform for surplus food donations.

Food Donation Point – Corporate Challenge

We will help you to organise a Food Donation Point, including information to share with colleagues to encourage them to bring in store cupboard essentials during an allocated timeframe. 

We will match you to a local charity to take any food (and non-food) donations to.

Corporate volunteering at Borough Market

Get involved with regular volunteer opportunities at London’s oldest and prestigious produce and street food market! Work alongside our experienced volunteers to get world-class produce to people who need it whilst helping Borough Market achieve their goals to become zero-waste.
